From Richmond Times-Dispatch Richmond, VA by John Piersol July 31, 1998 http://www.gatewayva.com/pages/tdmain.htm --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Midway Critic: John Piersol, rising freshman at the Governor's School Critic's rating: 1-1/2 Stars Album: "Poole Hall Sessions" Label: Midway Music Type of music: Popish rockish something First reation: First of all, this CD has five songs on it and runs a grand total of 20 minutes. There are way too many instrumental parts in the songs. When listening to these unimaginative dronings, I long for some lyrics. But when the singer starts, I realize that it is almost as bad and just turn it off. Second reactions: No real improvement here; some songs start off not too bad but after five minutes or so it's just too much to deal with. This band definitely needs some work. Best song: This is a tough category, not because there are so many great tunes to choose from but because there are only five songs and none of them stands out. "Get out of my way" is more lively than the others, and it marks the end of the CD. Critic's note: There simply isn't very much that I can really say about Midway except that you probably shouldn't even come close to this CD. Believe me, you won't regret it.
